The first Chicken School was a hit and attendees walked away with a LOT of tactical right.now things to incorporate. (read the reviews!) so I'm doing it again. See the date below and join me and your fellow chicken keepers, live, on Zoom:
Saturday, July 20th at 8am PDT/CA time (aka: 9am Mountain, 10am Central and 11am Eastern).
In this 90-minute tell all training I'm going to teach you how to successfully summer with your chickens. I’ll cover the three P’s, the ones I’m asked about most: poop, predators and pests (and more!)
YOUR CURRENT EXPERIENCE WITH CHICKEN KEEPING: the heat, sporadic egg laying, and so.much poop, coupled with predators, pests, etc, etc - are you overwhelmed yet?
I get it!
So, this year, lets summer better, shall we?
Regardless of your experience with chickens you'll fly away fully empowered, understanding what-the-flock is going on and how you can enjoy the next several months knowing-that-you-know. How nice is that? Very nice.
WHAT I KNOW:
Why poop stinks,
Why there is so.much of it and
What can be done to lessen the stink and suck of it.
Plus, how-to things for your coop, keeping predators at bay and outsmarting them along with prevention and eradication methods for the bugs that bug your chickens.
In some cases less is more – not for this training.
I'll share my 19 years of tried-and-true chicken tips, hot weather strategies (to put into action, right now), in your coop, run and nesting boxes along with inexpensive ways to keep their hot little bodies properly regulated (on a normal day their body temp is 105 to 107 degrees, btw).
And because we all know chickens have big personalities, of course I will cover behavior. Things you may have noticed like:
not laying, where are they laying, squatting, roosting in the wrong places, routines, egg eating, panting, picking, pecking, bullying, broodies, together but separate (introducing new flock members), ect, etc.
Food and treats are a biggie when it comes to poop and why it gets gross: we’ll talk the summer do’s and don'ts along with when ahnnnd why not. (PS: this will NOT be a sales pitch on TFC products btw)
Chicken keeping isn’t complete without having a useful, first aid kit on hand with a few key items (one’s that won’t put you in the poor house assembling) and I'll discuss ways you can improve your chickens health right.now.
Helpful bonus downloads:
- a comprehensive chicken coop maintenance checklist (download) coop security, nesting boxes, roosts, water supply, fencing, gates, latches, all.of.it.
- Vacation planner prompts (download): setting you up for success
- How to prepare for a chicken sitter (download): setting your chicken sitter up for success
- Chicken sitter instructions (2 download examples, clear + concise)
- Foods to share with your chickens
- Food to avoid with your chickens and why
You read that correctly: PROMISE. Vacations as a chicken owner are possible.
In Chicken School you'll learn how to find, arrange, train and coordinate a chicken sitter: clearly and successfully so you can fly the coop!
A replay will be available if you can't make one of the live dates. And, you can access the replay and downloads again and again.
