What does your store focus on? And what do you do especially well?

At Nicoma Park Feed, we focus on helping the small farm or homestead get started and run smoothly. We are especially good at helping people pick a place to start with their new property, backyard chickens, or gardens, and establish a plan for growth, direction, and forward progress.

What about your store are you most passionate about?

I love that the feed store is a place of local community building. People bump in to each other here. Connections are made here. There is a bulletin board where things can be bought, sold, and traded. It is a hub in the community that connects an older generation with a rising generation that wants to learn to do things the "old way".

What are three products/brands that your customers can’t get enough of? One's they really love.

    1. Big V Chicken Scratch
    2. Victor Dog Food
    3. Banixx Pet Wound Care

      What originally attracted you to Treats for Chickens?

      I learned about the product as a customer recommendation. As I read about the products, I realized that they fit my goals for the future of our feed store. While we purchased an already established feed store, full of commercial, chemical products, our goal is to add natural, organic, environmentally friendly products for our customers and their critters to enjoy.

      I have to know... Have you been hit with the baby chick fever?

      • (Q) Do you sell baby chicks? (A): Yes
      • (Q) If so, what months? (A): Year round.

      How do you describe TFC to your customers?

      Enthusiastically! I tell them how much difference I notice in my own hens, because truly, how else could I sell a product well than to use it myself?? My girls, and the eggs we produce, are a prize to us. Seeing an improvement in our flock, and our eggs, has been amazing since I already had them on a pretty rigorous and wildly organic diet. Being able to share that with my customers has made it pretty easy to share TFC with them!

      Anyone on your team raise chickens, what breeds and names?

      We don't name our chickens, but we raise Light Brahmas and Barred Rocks.

      Your favorite way to eat eggs?

      As an ingredient in something sweet and delicious {like meringue or lemon bars or...}
